I think we all have asked ourselves that question, "What shall I wear?" We look into our closet and it's pretty much filled with clothes but you can't seem to find anything to wear! I remember as a teenager I would raid my mom's closet and would always find a treasure in there! I would mix and match a combination of her clothes and mine and would create the perfect outfit! But I am not really talking about our outward appearance. I'm talking about our inward appearance that reflects our outward appearance to others. Yes, it is important to look nice and fashionable but a sad or downcast face is noticeable to all. If you are not happy within, you might as well do without the fancy clothes. You can put on a happy face but your eyes are the window to your soul. I can tell you that joy does not come in wealth or material things but it comes in faith. How is your heart, in Proverbs 31:25 it says, "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." What does that mean to me, I believe that no matter what comes my way or how difficult it can be, God has equipped me with strength, the strength comes from Him, because the Word says, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." It is not I, but God who works within me to handle things with dignity. Dignity, is defined by a state of being worthy of honor and respect. It also is to have a sense of pride with oneself and self respect. Above all see yourself as a worthy human being, you are worth to be respected and you should carry yourself that way. Now faith, strength and dignity are all the components that helps you live without fear of the future. We are to know we are equipped with the best outfit of all, the Armor of God. We are to put on the belt of truth, take up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit. We all can benefit from this outfit, next time you get ready to go out the door, imagine yourself putting on the Armor of God, everything else will follow. Don't worry what you will wear, Matthew 6:25, just be thankful for what you have.
Today as I awoke the first word that popped into my mind was serendipity. I felt compelled to write about it, so I looked up the definition and it states this, "luck that takes the form of finding valuable or pleasant things that are not looked for." Have you ever been walking and seen a dollar on the floor, you weren't looking for it but there it was. I know that is not much of an example but one thing the word, "serendipity," reminded me of is the bible verse 2 Corinthians 2:9, " Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." Isn't that a serendipity of a verse!!! I for one, am in a state of waiting right now, I have a desire for a certain outcome and have discussed it with God, maybe even pleaded with God. At times, It has not been easy, I've certainly had my share of very challenging moments lately and have asked God for certain things to come to pass, but yet I'm still waiting patiently that He will answer in His own way and time. Sometimes, we may think we know what we really want and at times what we don't even think to ask God about it, but His answer comes and when it does, we find out it was exactly what we needed. I can say that I don't believe in luck as the definition says, but I do find blessings and pleasant things that i never even looked for in an answer to a prayer. So this is my serendipity moment and I pray you find yours. The picture below is named, "Serendipity", I did not expect the farm around the corner of a dreary morning drive but it was pleasant to stop and reflect on God's masterpiece even if my day did not turn out exactly as I would of wanted it to be.
I was reading this morning in Acts 17:26," From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands."
This verse really hit me like a refreshing Spring rain. As I read it, I contemplated what is my time in history. I want to leave a legacy to do good to those around me to invest in other peoples lives. In order for me to do that I can't consume myself in my little circle. I have to get out of my comfort zone. Let me see, getting out of your comfort zone can be, greeting the new neighbor next door, helping someone in need, and investing quality time with my family. I've noticed a funny thing in my own household, it seems that we can be all in one room and we are all on our smart phones. I just think it is such a mesmerizing object it has everyone in a trance. I for one try to use it for blogging or uplifting someone but then it creeps up on me, especially those cute little dog videos. I don't know about you but my legacy can not be, "Remember that girl that shared such cute videos, what was her name?" I for one am going to make the best of my time. I am going to start talking to my family rather then texting them. There is something about having a conversation and have someone look at you rather then your phone. I have to admit it's not going to be easy but I will certainly try.
Maybe I'll find out what my legacy is, meanwhile I will continue to blog and make the most of every opportunity to plant kindness and harvest love. I think you should do it as well.
I have been through a little dry spell in my writing and it creates such a frustration in me, I can't even describe it. It must be what you call, "writer's block." Every time I would try to write, I just had nothing to give or say. So I thought about it and well I decided to talk about just that. When you feel you have nothing to give or say, it could be you have so much to say you can't put it into words. I believe you need time to refresh yourself. Take up a hobby, make new friends, paint, take up gardening and watch your garden grow. I decided to take up gardening and I was really excited to see my clematis sprouting flowers but to my dismay all the flowers have been eaten. I'm just about to give up!!! I don't know what to do! I know there must be hope for my little plant so I'm going to attempt to save it. I will engross myself in gardening sites online and find out what is eating my plant!! Just like in Isaiah 58:11
The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Just as I am frustrated during my writing block and my gardening skills , I have to do some soul searching with God and connect with Him through His Word. Just like I seek sites on gardening my plant will flourish as I will. He will give me water in a dry land and my clematis plant will eventually be ever-flowing and it will also spring up flowers once again. I just have to put my trust in the Gardener.
So perimenopause is the stuff women might talk about among each other and joke about it. It's that time when you still have your period but you can't sleep or you go through hot flashes, you start sweating profusely out of the blue. You become irritable of the smallest little speck of dust on the floor, I can go on and on. You laugh about it and shrug it off as if to ignore it, until the next hot flash comes along. Right now as I am typing this I have a wrap on my belly, it certainly has gotten smoother since I've started on my second wrap. I thought my life was just downhill from here but that's not true. I am happy to say it will only get better. I started walking again, it helps so much with my mood swings and I have been taking Greens-Berry flavor everyday in the morning. It really kicks off my day with such a burst of energy. I also am on my third week of the Hair,Skin and Nails vitamins and certainly see a difference in my thinning hair. You see this is hard for me to talk about because we all want to portray the fountain of youth but reality is we do get older but you don't have to sit there and do nothing about it. Do things that will help you become a better person. Get off your butt and start walking or join a gym. You can even take the vitamins I take. Here is the site I buy them at http://ielylike.myitworks.com/. I know I feel better and look better. I'm 52 years young. My life has just begun, it's a new phase, my kids are grown and I as a mother feel I need to always nurture something, it's time to nurture myself. Be kind to myself and see myself in a positive light. I can get moving and you can too. I would love to hear what you are doing to get your body healthy. I tried the body combat and well, I'm not ready for that yet, lol but if you can do it, tell me about it. I only lasted the warm up and then I left the the gym. I think we should all start small, take little steps to health. That's what I'm doing, small little steps with a big outcome.
The pictures below are from wraps from real customers:
I have been contemplating starting a hashtag concerning health." I am not getting any younger and it's all downhill from here." I said to myself , I actually was just calling it quits. I decided that I was not going to do that. I have lost 12 pounds so far. I'm starting to walk again and I certainly see the difference. I started this great vitamin called, "Hair,Skin, and Nails,' its a product of a company called, "It-works,'" in the two weeks I've been using it I see my hair shinier than ever!! I was loosing my hair because of stress! I always thought this was a gimmick with the loosing weight and that, "Crazy Wrap Thing," but it is not a gimmick. I wrapped my tummy and thighs and I was smoother and my jeans were a bit loose after one wrap! So back to this health quest I am in. I gave this a lot of thought, I normally don't speak about my health but it is very important since I am the caregiver of my husband. He is sometimes ok and sometimes he's not and I realized I was getting unhealthy. I have to be healthy for him and for myself! My eldest daughter bought me the kit and the vitamins and now I represent the company too. I'm not going to push anyone to start this health quest but you can purchase the items on my website to try for yourself. I would love for you to make a health quest and join me in being fit. I'm certainly not looking to be a runway model but I am searching for the better in me. That means getting into a routine of exercising and eating right and using vitamins and replacement greens.
I read in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 That your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefor honor God with your bodies.
So I'm doing just that, honoring the Lord with my body. I am really excited that during this quest, I have started painting, which is my passion! I was fired from my job after working it for 14 years. I felt I lost my since of identity, since I have deep work ethics that were passed down to me from my mom and dad. As I write this, there is true joy in me since I had abandoned myself for so long. I am having a meeting on Tuesday night called, "Trim it Tuesday," via Facebook from 9:00PM to 9:30PM , You can DM me your information for Facebook so I can invite you to the meeting to hear about the products.
I wanted to share another verse, !Timothy4:8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Yes, being physically fit has value but also godliness is also important and I will be on a quest not only to be healthy but to be spiritually healthy too. I think a good hashtag for it would be #trimyourtemple. I'm really excited about this but very shy to post pictures of myself. I will share pictures of me but it would be pictures that would honor my virtue as a woman, I don't believe women should expose themselves to show your improvement.
In Philippians 1:20 it says, "I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now and always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.
I so much want to represent God with my temple, so here is to me and to you! Would you like to join me in my fitness quest? You can even start it without the products I'm using, just do it!!! You may purchase the wraps , vitamins and greens at ielylike.myitworks.com.
I love the fact that you can read the Word of God and a verse that you read before just hits you like, "I should of had a V8." I'm so excited that this verse just knocked me off my feet!!!
Romans 12:2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Once we realize that we have the mind of Christ! Our thoughts , doubts, and fears are not there. Our mind is renewed with the Word and God's mind becomes ours, it's there for the taking , like a gift .This is mind boggling! I've been fighting my mind , making me restless, doubtful, and scared! I don't know about you but the first thing I'm going to put on today is, "The Mind of Christ." Let's start a new fashion statement, after all, "God's Mind is a terrible thing to waste!"
Today I was able to get a good picture of the beautiful magnolia flower. They are usually to high for me to capture a good picture of them, It eminated such a lovely aroma of what seemed like fresh lemons with a hint of vanilla. Magnolias symbolize femininity , purity and dignity. I just was mesmerized by it's beauty and soft petals but yet firm. It made me appreciate my feminity and yet my strength . As a woman , I love to smell nice and perfume is one thing I never forget to apply every day. Just as I might enter a room and fill the air with my perfume , we should always eminate the sweet aroma of Christ . 2 Corinthians 2:15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God . We should always remember who we represent. Everything we do let it glorify Christ.
Proverbs 31:25 She is clothed with strength and dignity.
During devotions this morning, God made me realize that quantity is not quality. I can get so busy with the quantity of my household chores or get so caught up in social media and spend a great quantity of my time but I'm not spending quality time in things that should be my priority. I've learned that the quality of life is more important than the quantity of money, things and how many likes you have on a picture you posted in social media. Are you expecting quantity or quality? I know that if you spend your life busy with the quantity of all you have to do and not spend the first part of your day in quality time with God it will not work . You are so busy with life and running on your own strength. Rather than looking to the one who gave you life and live it in His strength .Don't spend another moment in quantity but give yourself quality time with the Lord, everything else will fall into place. 🙏🏻
John 15:5 says “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” God has limitless strength Phil. 4:13 2 Corinthians 4:7, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.”
